Step into Wellness at the Life Enrichment Center

Your Destination for All Things Active Living

In 2017, Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury (RWC) celebrated the grand opening of its Life Enrichment Center. This $4.5 million, 18,000-square-foot facility features an aquatics area, exercise classrooms, fitness equipment, locker rooms, and community spaces. The center also includes multipurpose rooms to support a wide range of athletic hobbies.

Reach Your Fitness Goals

Living well starts with physical well-being. At RWC, about 85% of our residents participate in some form of exercise routine. The beautiful Life Enrichment Center serves as a centralized hub for all fitness activities and has everything you need to get active at your leisure. No matter your abilities or comfort level, we offer fitness classes at varying intensities to cater to the personalized journey of all residents.

At the Life Enrichment Center, you can enjoy:

Fitness isn’t just a part of active retirement living! Part of RWC’s personalized approach to a healthy lifestyle is a tailored wellness program crafted in partnership with on-site health and fitness professionals. This includes specialized programs for those with unique care needs, such as our Fit to Move classes for those living with Parkinson’s disease.

A Pathway to Support for Parkinson's Disease

Beyond our Fit to Move fitness classes, our commitment to supporting individuals with Parkinson’s disease continues through our monthly forums. We host two distinct groups in a caring and supportive setting:

  • Parkinson’s Support Group
  • Parkinson’s Care Partner Group

These meetings provide a safe space for people living with Parkinson’s and their families and loved ones to discuss their needs, share challenges, and exchange helpful tips. We also regularly feature speakers from national and regional organizations at the forefront of Parkinson’s research and treatment.

Wellness Checks When You Need Them

On the third Wednesday of every month, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, we offer complimentary blood pressure checks and a health-friendly food bar in the Life Enrichment Center lobby. It’s a great opportunity for a quick health check-in and some friendly socializing!
