Find Support in a Community You Know

Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury (RWC) has always valued education and training around Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Now, we are proud to offer the newest development in our continuum of care with The Birdsong House, a residential home designed specifically for residents experiencing mild to moderate memory loss.

We understand that experiencing memory impairment can bring unique challenges, and at The Birdsong House, we honor each resident’s journey with compassion and respect. Our memory care approach is rooted in supporting individuals in ways that feel natural, comforting, and connected to daily life.

Specialized

Programming

In the large, bright activity space within The Birdsong House, you can expect to find residents engaged in programming curated to stimulate the mind and foster a sense of community. Our memory care team in Irvington has created individualized and group programs that cater to the unique needs and abilities of those with memory loss. These activities range from arts to music, all designed to improve cognitive function and promote socialization.

At RWC, we understand that each resident’s experience with memory impairment is unique. That’s why our trained team partners with each individual and their family to develop personalized care plans that address their specific needs. From medication management to daily routines, our goal is to provide compassionate and comprehensive care for every resident in memory care.

The Importance of LifeCare

As a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), we proudly offer LifeCare contracts to help residents make the most of our continuum of care. This model allows us to meet your healthcare needs should they ever change as you build a life here at RWC.
