“There’s so much to do here. I look at the schedule and think, ‘Well, I can’t do that because I’m already doing this.’ My days are busy. I walk the campus, ride my three-wheel bike, attend committee meetings, swim, do water aerobics, and take art classes. I haven’t looked back since moving here.”

Start Living With

Confidence & Peace of Mind

RWC offers a wide range of independent living apartments, cottages, and single-family homes. As a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), we offer the confidence that comes from a lifetime residency and pre-arranged healthcare services. RWC offers a Type A Life Care contract, which means that active independent living is the first step residents take in their journey of aging in place at RWC, guaranteeing access to higher levels of care on campus.

One of the greatest benefits of a Life Care contract is financial predictability. Residents pay a consistent monthly fee structure, even if their care needs increase over time. The only additional cost beyond your standard monthly fee will be for extra meals and specific support services tailored to you, like medications and medical supplies.

This reinforces the importance of moving into independent living while you are medically eligible, so your future is guaranteed.

What'sIncluded in the Monthly Fee?

Monthly fees at RWC include your residence, maintenance and repairs, housekeeping, utilities (excluding personal phone, cable, and internet), dining options, transportation services, campus amenities, and a full calendar of wellness, social, and cultural programming designed to support an active lifestyle.

Many people find it helpful to compare their monthly expenses at home with the services included in a Life Care community. When you consider the cost of maintenance, housekeeping, dining, utilities, transportation, property taxes, and the potential expense of hiring help for services you currently manage yourself, many discover that a Life Care monthly fee provides both convenience and long-term financial predictability.

In addition, a portion of the entrance fee and monthly fees in a Life Care community may be considered deductible medical expenses under certain circumstances, which many families are not aware of and may wish to discuss with a tax advisor.

Resident Clinic for Extra Support

Independent living residents in need of services can attend the Resident Clinic, open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for consultations, medication administration, and prescribed treatments. You can also schedule specialty services, including dermatology, podiatry, and otology. Outside of clinic hours, a registered nurse is available to respond to emergencies* including weekends and overnight. During these times, you can activate your emergency pendant for immediate assistance or call the front desk and request a call from the nurse.

The nursing staff at the Resident Clinic provides an extra set of eyes and ears, helping to monitor even small changes in a resident’s health. Based on each resident’s preferences, staff can also help keep families informed, offering an added layer of support as needs evolve.

Whether it’s coordinating temporary medical meals during recovery or arranging medication delivery and other supportive services through our At Home team, the clinic is here to help residents navigate changes in a way that feels manageable and personalized.

Our team works closely with residents to look at their overall health picture, offer guidance on next steps, and connect them with additional resources as needed—helping support independence while ensuring the right level of care is always within reach.

*While RWC offers peace of mind with emergency nursing support, it’s important to note that 24/7 nursing services are not included for our independent living residents. This approach allows residents to fully embrace their independent lifestyle.

A Proactive, Team-Based

Approach to Care

At RWC, care is a collaborative effort. Each week, our interdisciplinary team, which includes the Clinic Manager, Health Services Administrator, Assisted Living Administrator, Director of Nursing, Activity Staff, Social Services, and other key staff, meets to discuss resident needs and potential changes.

Whether planning for recovery, anticipating future needs, or supporting a transition in care, these conversations allow our team to stay ahead of changes whenever possible. This proactive approach helps residents and families feel informed, prepared, and supported, with guidance at every step.

Our goal is to provide thoughtful, coordinated care that supports each resident’s well-being and helps prevent a crisis whenever possible—while remaining ready to respond with compassion and expertise when unexpected needs arise.
