Marsha Sitnik summered in Lancaster starting in 1962 and retired here in 2005 after a 35‐year career in the sciences at the Smithsonian. Since then she has served as President and head of museum collections of the Mary Ball Washington Museum. At St. Mary’s Whitechapel Episcopal Church, she served on the vestry, helped spearhead the Ball Tomb Project, and is now Chair of the Cemetery. She is Vice President and head of membership for Preservation Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula, a group that provides small grants for repairs and restoration of historic properties and objects. Her dedication to historic preservation extends to a hands‐on renovation of her historic home, the home place of the Ewell family in Bertrand.
